Isa Fattoria — A House of Light.

Isabella ‘Isa’ Gunn is a visual artist and lighting designer. Her work draws inspiration from the ornamentation of the Renaissance and Baroque eras, poetic literature, feminine expression, and the raw beauty of nature. She creates pieces that marry meticulous craftsmanship with a sense of suspended magic — where light, texture, and form converge in unexpected ways. Captivated by the sculptural potential of textiles, Isa explores its relationship with light, allowing the fabric to shift and respond to subtle changes in its glow. Through her artistry, she weaves stories into fabric, revealing inner complexities and anchoring them in permanence.

The process is both labor-intensive and intimate, often taking a month or more to complete. Beginning with a few conceptual sketches to explore the design vision, Isa’s approach becomes meditative, as fabric and light enter a continuous feedback loop—every fold and stitch guided by the material’s response to diffused light. The work evolves through a continuous dialogue, with each adjustment bringing the piece closer to a balance of expression and illumination.

Through thoughtful craftsmanship and design, Isa’s work invites viewers to reconnect with light, warmth, and texture. Each piece, once illuminated, becomes a portal for personal reflection —where light and fabric evoke nostalgia, stirring memories, emotions, and interpretations unique to each observer.

Raised on a small farm in the Northwest, Isa honors both the rugged landscapes of her upbringing and her Italian heritage. 'Fattoria,' meaning farm in Italian, reflects a deep connection to her work and creative process.
