Isabella Gunn is a visual artist and lighting designer. Her work often draws inspiration from the grand beauty and ornamentation of the Renaissance and Baroque eras, poetic literature, feminine expression, and natural landscapes — creating pieces that traverse material construction and unexpected whimsy. She is captivated by the marriage of light and textiles, and its ability to influence a space. Through thread woven into fabric, her artistry tells stories — illuminating artful complexities and stitching them into permanence.
The process is labor and time-intensive, often taking 30+ hours to complete, building a deep connection between artist and material. After sketching and prototyping, the constructive process involves tightly wrapping a tailor-made iron frame, and meticulously hand-stitching the fabric in place until it reaches its final form.
Through her dedicated craftsmanship and thoughtful design, Isa’s work invites people to reconnect with the beauty of light and texture, turning ordinary spaces into places that inspire and uplift. Once fully realized, the observer is invited to look up in wonder and explore their personal interpretations.
Raised on a small farm in the Northwest, Isa honors the natural landscape in which she grew up, as well as her Italian heritage. ‘Fattoria’, Italian for farm. To explore commissions or begin a conversation about new collaborations, please email studio@isafattoria.com
